Tony Stacy

Founder-Managing Partner, Portfolio Manager: Global Liquid Alpha

Tony Stacy is the founder of Palo Verde Capital and leads the trading strategy and execution for its flagship fund, Global Liquid Alpha.

Mr. Stacy has an impressive 20 year Wall Street trading history. He has devised and managed trading strategies for institutional and high net worth assets. Mr. Stacy began his career in 1988 at Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ) and served in multiple trading capacities, eventually leading the launch of DLJ’s co-branded private wealth advisory solution. Mr. Stacy left DLJ in 1997 to start his own asset management firm which he managed until 2007 when he sold the firm and started Paragon Capital Advisors, the predecessor to Palo Verde Capital.
 



 

Patrick Bartle

Trading Head, Risk Oversight

Patrick Bartle is a 20+ year veteran of Wall Street. Having started his banking career with Bank of America in Madrid, Spain, his career has spanned more than two decades and 6 continents in senior trading and risk roles at some of the largest financial institutions in the world.

Mr. Bartle’s track record of success has lead him to senior positions at such well known financial institutions as Bank of America, CS First Boston, ABN AMRO and RBS based in major financial trading and risk centers across the globe- London, New York, Chicago, Madrid and Amsterdam. His trading and cross asset class risk management skills have enabled him to hold senior positions such as Global Head of Currency Trading and Head of Trading and Risk Management Local Markets CEEMEA which have lead him across the globe trading and managing risk in over 40 countries. Driven by success and a passion for financial markets, Patrick has joined Tony Stacy to help manage the Liquid Alpha strategy. Aside from his role at Palo Verde, Patrick also sits on the Global Advisory Board of Thunderbird School of Global Management – from which he graduated in 1989.
 



 

John Heilner

Capital Raising Specialist/Firm Economist

A 20 year veteran of the fund management industry, leading efforts in fund design and construction, retail and wholesale distribution, as well as sales desk design and oversight.

Mr. Heilner has served in similar capacities of Smith Barney, ING Investment Managment, John Nuveen and other well known Wall Street firms. John’s career highlights include strategic design and launch at Smith Barney’s Balance Portfolio solutions, management of internal and external wholesale strategies for New England Financial, and John Nuveen. Including the design, reporting metrics and management of ING Funds’ multi-platform distribution strategies including the design, management and oversite of its industry leading mutual fund sales desk as ranked by Market Metrics. Most recently, Mr. Heilner was Vice President-National Mutual Fund Strategist for ING.

Over his career, Mr. Heilner has raised more than $50 billion in closed-end funds, open-end mutual funds, ETF’s and separately managed accounts (SMAs).
 



 

Joe Worden

Partner, Marketing and Institutional Distribution Management

Joe Worden is a seasoned leader in financial services with successful experience in private equity, alternatives and distribution management.

Mr. Worden has an extensive background in attracting, managing and retaining institutional and high net worth capital. Prior to joining Palo Verde, Mr. Worden held several C-level management positions in the areas of sales and distribution management, including: business development, asset attraction and retention, sales & marketing and retail distribution for several privately held financial services companies as well as managing the corporate and business development needs of alternative asset managers. Mr. Worden is a partner with CVM Equity Funds, a private equity/alternatives firm focused on early stage opportunities.
